Trump Approves Governor Kehoe’s Disaster Declarations for March Storms

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Senator Eric Schmitt (R-MO) applauds President Trump’s approval of federal disaster aid from FEMA for storms that hit Eastern Missouri communities in March and early April:

“I’m glad to see Missouri’s federal disaster declarations were approved to help individuals and communities from across Eastern Missouri recover from the storms in March and early April. I worked closely with our federal delegation to ensure these funds reached the thousands of struggling families in a timely fashion. This is just the beginning of helping communities across our state get back on their feet following devastating storms this season. I am in close contact with FEMA regarding federal assistance for the recent storms that hit St. Louis and I will continue to work tirelessly to ensure Missourians across the Show Me State receive the aid they so crucially need,” said Senator Eric Schmitt.

  • On April 3,2025 Senator Schmitt sent a letter to President Trump alongside Senator Josh Hawley requesting immediate action on Governor Mike Kehoe’s disaster declarations for the storms that touched down in March and early April.
  • Schmitt pushed for the approval of these declarations and today it was announced that both Individual assistance and public assistance will be distributed across the state.
    • Counties receiving Individual Assistance include: Bollinger, Butler, Camden, Carter, Franklin, Howell, Iron, Jefferson, Oregon, Ozark, Perry, Phelps, Reynolds, Ripley, St. Louis, Wayne, Webster, and Wright Counties.
    • Counties receiving Public Assistance include: Bollinger, Butler, Callaway, Carter, Dunklin, Franklin, Howell, Iron, Madison, New Madrid, Oregon, Ozark, Perry, Phelps, Reynolds, Ripley, Scott, Shannon, Stoddard, and Wayne Counties.

Individuals in Bollinger, Butler, Camden, Carter, Franklin, Howell, Iron, Jefferson, Oregon, Ozark, Perry, Phelps, Reynolds, Ripley, St. Louis, Wayne, Webster, and Wright counties can apply through FEMA for Individual Assistance by:

  1. Applying online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov.
  2. Calling the FEMA phone number at 1-800-621-3362.
