Senator Schmitt Discusses President Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill, No Amnesty for Illegal Aliens, Joe Biden’s Autopen Presidency on Mornings with Maria

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Eric Schmitt (R-MO) appeared on Fox Business’ Mornings with Maria this morning to laud President Trump’s signing of the One Big Beautiful Bill into law, Democrats refusal to condemn violence against ICE agents, no amnesty for illegal immigrants, and the next steps in investigating Joe Biden’s autopen presidency.

Watch the full interview HERE.

Schmitt on the One Big Beautiful Bill:

“It’s a beautiful win, and he signed it on that beautiful desk. What it really means for the American people is they’re not going to have taxes increased by four trillion dollars, which was thousands of dollars for the average family. You’ve got working class folks that will have more money in their pockets now with no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, you’ve got historic investments on school choice, you’ve got border wall funding, you’ve got military funding, all these things to keep America safe, all in this one bill. I think what’s really interesting that doesn’t get talked about a lot is, what we really did was we front-loaded a lot of those priorities, so funding for several years, so the Democrats can’t hold that money hostage. You’ve got $45 billion for border wall construction, $30 billion for ICE Operations, you’ve got another $45 billion for detention centers, so the Democrats can’t–like they did a few years ago–create a government shutdown because they don’t want to fund deportations. That’s all baked in now, President Trump can actually do the things he campaigned on, and these issues are wildly popular with the American people.”

Schmitt on Democrats Failure to Condemn Violence against ICE Agents:

“You have, effectively, almost no got-aways now. You compare that with a year ago, or certainly two or three years ago, when you literally had tens of thousands of people every month getting across that border. We had no idea who they were. It’s pretty amazing, actually, that you now have a secure border, and so you move to the next stage, which is the deportation process. You meet mass migration with mass deportation. President Trump ran on it, the polling is sky-high on it, it’s what the American people want. They actually believe in sovereignty. They actually believe in borders. Now, President Trump has the ability to go do it. I find it fascinating, though, that a lot of these senators from states that wanted to force children to wear masks all day long in school, don’t want to protect the identity of ICE Agents who are under assault now. This is totally crazy, but the Democrats have now moved from fighting this on the electoral front they lost, they lost in court, and now you have these rogue antifa radicals now assaulting ICE Officers. Everybody in the country ought to be condemning it. You do not hear it from Democrats. Another thing you’ll never hear the Democrats say, even if they condemn some level of violence, they’ll never say we need to take a step back and let ICE do their jobs because fundamentally they don’t think ICE should have jobs and they don’t think they should do jobs, and they want to defund ICE And that’s a big disconnect with the American people.”

Schmitt on No Amnesty for Illegal Immigrants:

“No amnesty. I think President Trump was very clear about that yesterday. Secretary Rollins was very clear about that yesterday, and I think she’s right. The answer here is technology and American workers. The American worker, as we’ve talked about on this show before, has had the double whammy of terrible globalist policies that have shipped their jobs overseas to cheap labor in China, slave labor in China, and the importation of cheap labor at home. That’s why you have a lot of people who struggled to find work; they’ve been priced out of the market with illegal and low-wage workers, and the answer here is opening those opportunities up for American workers. You just saw a food processing plant open up that you had some folks who were arrested and sent away and then you had American workers actually sign up and do those jobs. It’s a myth that Americans don’t want to work hard and don’t want to do these jobs. Of course, they will, but automation, technology, advancement, innovation is also going to be key for the agriculture sector as well.”

Schmitt on Who Was Running the Country Under President Autopen:

“There’s a certain level of irony to all of this that the Trump Derangement Syndrome sort of drove them to cover up a guy who was clearly in decline because they thought he was the best shot to beat President Trump. President Trump trounced him–I was at the debate in the spin room. I had to go up to reporters from the New York Times and The Washington Post to try to get them to talk to me. They all knew the gig was up, that Joe Biden was exposed, they couldn’t hide it anymore. President Trump went on to a historic victory.

“As far as who was in charge, this is an important question that needs to be answered. If you have someone that didn’t authorize the use of the autopen and you’re signing pardons or commutations or laws or executive orders, it calls into question whether or not those are effective. We have a special access request into the archivist right now to find out if there’s a paper trail, there should a paper trail of whether or not the authorization exists. There’s more to come here. All the folks around Biden are like rats jumping off a ship now, but at the time, they were telling us don’t believe your lying eyes.”
