Senator Schmitt Celebrates Key Wins for Missouri’s Whiteman Air Force Base, Military Readiness in the One Big Beautiful Bill
WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Eric Schmitt (R-MO), who serves on the Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC), celebrated key wins in the One Big Beautiful Bill, which was signed into law on July 4th, 2025, that will strengthen Missouri’s defense industrial base and promote military readiness in the United States and across the globe.
“As home to Whiteman Air Force Base, which houses the B-2 spirit bombers that carried out the highly successful strikes against Iran’s nuclear facilities, Missouri plays a crucial role in the defense capabilities and military readiness of the United States. The provisions secured in the One Big Beautiful Bill are strategic investments that will modernize and strengthen our state’s defense industrial base, military installations, and national security capabilities – both at home and abroad,” said Senator Schmitt.
The following wins for the U.S. Military in the One Big Beautiful Bill:
- $400 million for the expedited production of the F-47: President Trump recently awarded the Next Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) contract to Boeing, which will be produced in St. Louis.
- $750 million for the F/A-XX Program: Boeing and Northrop Grumman are competing for this contract, which—if awarded to Boeing—will be executed in St. Louis.
- $3.2 billion to procure F-15EX fighter jets: This investment will increase F-15EX output at Boeing’s factory in St. Louis over the next three years.
