Senator Schmitt Applauds Senate Judiciary Committee Moving Forward on Nominees for the Eastern District of Missouri

Praises President Trump for Strengthening Federal Judiciary

WASHINGTON –U.S. Senator Eric Schmitt (R-MO) released the following statement

applauding the Senate Judiciary Committee for approving the nominations of four highly qualified nominees to serve as Judges for the Eastern District of Missouri. Each of the nominees previously worked for Senator Schmitt when he was Missouri Attorney General.

“I am proud to see the Senate Judiciary Committee approve President Trump’s highly qualified nominees to serve the Eastern District of Missouri, and I look forward to seeing them swiftly confirmed by the whole Senate. All four nominees worked for me in the Missouri Attorney General’s office and together we fought each day for Missourians across our state. Thank you to President Trump for prioritizing these proven nominees that will serve the Show Me State with distinction for years to come,” said Senator Eric Schmitt.

Nominees include:

• Hon. Cristian Stevens
• Hon. Maria Lanahan
• Hon. Zachary Bluestone
• Hon. Joshua Divine, who will also serve the Western District of Missouri

Senator Schmitt played an instrumental role working with President Trump and the White House to ensure Missouri judicial appointments were among the first in the nation.
