Senator Schmitt Applauds Secretary Rollins’ Decision to Name Kansas City a USDA Hub

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Senator Eric Schmitt (R-MO) issued the following statement after Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins announced Kansas City, Missouri, as one of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) five relocation hubs. This is part of the USDA’s plan to consolidate, unify, and optimize functions within the Department.

“Today’s announcement is a major victory for Kansas City, the State of Missouri, and the farmers and ranchers who have been left behind by D.C.’s out-of-touch bureaucracy. I’ve long believed that the federal government functions best when it’s grounded in reality—not confined to the D.C. bubble. It’s long past time we reconnect USDA’s decision makers with the farmers and ranchers they serve. Kansas City, which sits in the heartland of America and already houses key USDA offices, is a great place for this relocation,” said Senator Schmitt.
