Senator Schmitt Discusses President Trump’s Big, Beautiful Bill on Fox Business’ Mornings With Maria
WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Eric Schmitt (R-MO) appeared on Mornings with Maria this morning to discuss President Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill, yesterday’s hearing on rogue left-wing district court judges, his upcoming hearing on Biden’s mental decline as President, and the Agroterrorism attempt by individuals with ties to the Chinese Communist Party.

Senator Schmitt on the Big, Beautiful Bill:
“We do need, I think, on the Big Beautiful Bill, to make it more beautiful with more savings. I think that is what you can count on from the Senate. That’s what we’re working on. But it’s also important to point out we have another crack. This is all for nondiscretionary or mandatory spending. We have the appropriations process to cut back on discretionary spending. Then we have this rescissions package that the White House has moved forward yesterday for some of those DOGE cuts and reforms that we can implement as well. So we have a few tools in the arsenal that now to go do this, but I’m all in favor of trying to find more savings here.

I think the SALT deduction stuff is crazy. Why the world would we be subsidizing the ridiculous policies of JB Pritzker and Gavin Newsom in California? I understand there are certain dynamics in the house. Those don’t exist in the Senate. We do not have a contingent of SALT state Republicans in the United States Senate, and so that’s why I think the Senate is going to have its imprint here. We appreciate the work that the House did. Speaker Johnson deserves a lot of credit for moving that through. It’s now the Senate’s turn, our time, and that’s what this bicameral process is all about. I’m all in favor of finding more savings. I do think we’re going to get growth with what we ultimately end up with. CBO has been wrong about this time and time again, projecting 1 percent growth is probably more like 3 percent or 4 percent. They’ve were $1.5 trillion dollars off on the 2017 tax cuts. And it’s also important to point out that if we don’t get this done on the tax cut portion, it’s a $4 trillion tax increase, which would be cataclysmic for the economy and for individuals. So the point is, we’re all working together…I think we’re going to get there, but I do think there’s an appetite for more spending reductions.
Senator Schmitt on Tuesday’s Hearing on Rogue District Court Judges:
First of all, the point of the hearing was twofold. One was to expose what’s really happening. As I mentioned in that clip, we’ve never seen anything like this. There were more nationwide injunctions in the first 100 Days of President Trump’s second term here than there were the entirety of Obama’s eight years and Biden’s four years. So you have a lot of activist judges that have been stacked on these district courts. Ultimately…as you’re seeing them make their way through the courts, Maria, they’re getting overruled. Their decisions are being dismissed as you get to the Supreme Court. Ultimately, I think Trump is, by and large, going to be successful in all he’s doing on personnel policy and the border. But there are some solutions. One is that the injunctions will be limited to the parties involved in the case. That’s a solution. The Supreme Court, by the way… I think they’re going to try to rein it in. But also, Maria, I want to make this point. There’s also real questions about the randomness — these are supposed to be randomly assigned judges. Judge Boasberg was not the emergency judge when he got a couple of these cases. He has four of these big cases. It’s statistically impossible for Boasberg to get that many cases, and there needs to be further inquiry on what’s actually going on with the assignment of these cases.
Senator Schmitt on Upcoming Biden Decline Hearing:
“I think that we’re starting to hear from whistleblowers. I think that the hearing on June 18th is going to be very important as we begin this investigation as to who was actually in charge of running the country when Joe Biden was president. President Autopen didn’t know where he was at and we were led to believe by the media and the Democrats that these were cheap fakes, that this was unfair, that somehow Joe Biden was at the top of his game. Everybody knew it was a lie, and now we need to find out who was lying, who knew what, when, and which media members were helping cover it up.”
Senator Schmitt on the Growing Threat from the CCP:
Yeah… by the way, if you have any connection to the CCP and you’re a student in this country, your visa should be revoked, we ought to start there. But China’s for real you and I talked about it and this kind of bioterrorism. I’m afraid it will be the last we see of it.
