Senator Schmitt Statement on Pope Leo XIV

WASHINGTON –Senator Eric Schmitt (R-MO), the first Catholic Republican elected to the United States Senate by the state of Missouri, released the following statement after the announcement of Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost’s election to become Pope Leo XIV, the first American pope in the history of the Catholic Church:
